As wastewater from homes contains a complex mix of organic matter, nutrients, pathogens, and pollutants, effective treatment is essential to prevent waterborne diseases and pollution of natural water bodies.

For this reason, municipal sewage treatment utilizes a big range of sewage treatment systems. Focusing on sustainability, low OPEX and resource recovery, Paques has developed a wide variety of sewage treatment systems.

Our unique UBOX® sewage treatment system was created for municipal water treatment in tropical regions. By combining anaerobic treatment, aerobic treatment, secondary clarification and biogas scrubbing into one single tank, the UBOX® guarantees great efficiency in BOD removal, the lowest OPEX (since sludge production and energy consumption are reduced) and the smallest footprint.

Paques also offers the CBD® technology, which enables highly efficient activated sludge digestion, thus reducing the volume and cost of sludge disposal.

Furthermore, the ANAMMOX® and PHOSPAQ® technologies can be used for sidestream ammonia and phosphorus removal from the digestate of activated sludge digesters.

Finally, Paques offers the THIOPAQ® technology to remove the H2S from the biogas generated by existing UASB reactors at domestic sewage treatment plants and by activated sludge digesters, enabling municipalities and concessions to safely use the biogas as energy source.
