Why choose ANAMMOX® as your nitrogen removal system?
The ANAMMOX® conversion is an elegant shortcut in the natural nitrogen cycle. Anammox bacteria convert ammonium (NH4 +) and nitrite (NO2 -) into environmentally neutral nitrogen gas (N2).
The currently patented Paques one-step ANAMMOX® technology combines partial nitritation (conversion of ammonium into nitrite) with the ANAMMOX® process. The ANAMMOX® process operates with naturally grown concentrated granular sludge in which optimal conditions for microbial synergy are created.
