BIOPAQ® UBOX is a modular, compact 4-step domestic sewage treatment technology that combines anaerobic treatment, aerobic treatment, secondary clarification and biogas purification in one single tank.
The BIOPAQ® UBOX modular design is suitable for capacities of 5, 10, 15, 20, 30 and 40 thousand population-equivalent (PE). By combining these different modules it is possible to treat any size of PE’s. Since implementation in progressive steps is possible, idle capacity is avoided. When the sewage treatment plant needs to increase its capacity, the system is just extended easily with extra modules.
The BIOPAQ® UBOX, designed by Paques, combines high efficient biological sewage treatment with biogas generation and purification. The technology provides a four step sewage treatment: anaerobic treatment, supplementary aerobic treatment, secondary clarification and biogas purification, all combined in one tank. This leads to low operational costs, a very small footprint and zero odor emission, with a total efficiency superior to 90%.
The BIOPAQ® UBOX reactor is equipped with an exclusive anti-clogging pressurized feeding system. This ensures uniform distribution and an efficient anaerobic treatment of the wastewater, avoiding clogging, dead zones and sludge thickening. After the anaerobic stage, the biogas produced is purified through a biogas scrubber, while the effluent passes internally to the aerobic stage, where the remaining organic load is removed. The effluent then leaves the reactor after being polished by a secondary clarifier.
